Quantitray

The Quantitray Automated Unit can be used for automatically counting and calculating bacterial counts for all types of Quantitray tests (e.g. Colilert, Colisure, Enterolert, Legiolert). It uses a high-resolution camera and visible/UV light, along with AI powered counting software to recognise which wells have changed colour.
- Reduces/eliminates operator exposure to:
- UV Light/Radiation
- Repetitive actions
- Error prone counting activities
- Eliminates risk of sample mix-ups and result errors.
- Excellent precision and accuracy (no variance between operators)
- Frees up operators to perform more complex and valuable tasks.
- Allows unattended processing of samples after hours.
- Allows easy integration with AUTONOMA’s other modular automation in the future, without costly modifications or engineering.
Operators open the drawer and place an incubated Quantitray for counting. The sample ID is typed in on the touchscreen and the method/analyte selected (e.g. coliforms, E. Coli). Optionally, operators can scan the sample ID barcode/QR code which avoids typing errors.
Once the method/analyte has been confirmed, the operator presses the start button to initialise the analysis. The scan takes a few seconds, and the results are displayed on the screen (MPN & Confidence Limit). By default, they can also be exported directly to LIMS along with the high-resolution photo/s for archiving. A second photo using the UV light can also be taken if required.
Scanned trays are removed and the machine is ready for the next sample. The unit is fully enclosed, ensuring consistent lighting and preventing operator exposure to UV radiation.
The machine features a user-friendly and ergonomic design, operated via a built-in touchscreen. An option of a networked PC or server-based virtual machine running HF Innovation’s LabDroid software is also possible if photo and/or result export are required.
It easily integrates with leading Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), including CCLAS, Starlims, LabWare, and SampleManager, streamlining sample registration. Results can be exported in CSV, XLS, or TXT formats with customizable layouts. API interfaces to LIMS are also available.
