Chrysos Modular Sample Preparation

The Chrysos Modular Sample Preparation System is a fully integrated, automated solution designed to streamline and standardize the entire sample preparation workflow from initial intake through to final output. Built for high-throughput laboratory and industrial environments, the system combines advanced robotics, intelligent process control, and seamless software integration to deliver consistent, repeatable, and traceable results.
Operators begin by scanning the barcode or RFID tag of each dried sample and loading it into the system via a buffered input magazine. This buffering capability allows multiple samples to be queued simultaneously, enabling operators to step away and focus on higher-value tasks while the system continues processing autonomously. Each sample is automatically weighed to ensure it falls within predefined limits before proceeding. Samples outside acceptable parameters are rejected, eliminating potential downstream errors.
Once accepted, samples are crushed to a uniform -2 mm size in a single pass using automated crusher units equipped with integrated dust extraction systems. These systems significantly reduce airborne particulates, improving both operator safety and environmental conditions. Following crushing, intelligent splitters dynamically adjust splitting ratios based on the sample mass, ensuring precise and consistent subsampling into labeled jars. If required, duplicate splits are automatically generated to support QA/QC protocols or additional analysis.
The system also fully automates sample container handling. Empty jars and lids are sorted, oriented, labeled with accurate sample identification, filled to the correct level, sealed, and weighed before being discharged onto the output conveyor. QA/QC samples can be pre-programmed into the workflow, ensuring they are inserted at correct intervals within each batch, maintaining strict compliance without manual intervention.
Throughout the entire process, automated cleaning cycles using compressed air and vacuum with optional flushing, minimize cross-contamination risks between samples.
By eliminating manual handling, reducing exposure to hazardous conditions, and removing variability between operators, the Chrysos Modular Sample Preparation System significantly enhances laboratory efficiency, safety, and data quality. Its modular design also allows for easy integration with existing and future automation systems, making it a scalable solution for evolving operational needs.
