AUTONOMA

Humanoid Robots Australia: Supply, Integration and Robots as a Service

AUTONOMA supplies, integrates and operates humanoid robots for Australian industry from our engineering office in Perth, Western Australia. You can buy a humanoid robot outright, or take it on a Robots as a Service (RaaS) agreement with no capital outlay. We deploy single robots and coordinated fleets that work together on tasks in mining laboratories, warehouses and manufacturing plants across Australia.

We are brand-agnostic. We select the platform that fits the task, then handle safety assessment, integration with your existing systems, commissioning, training and ongoing support. AUTONOMA has delivered industrial automation and laboratory robotics to Australian mining, resources and pathology clients since 2021, and the same engineering team stands behind every humanoid deployment.

Two ways to deploy: buy outright or Robots as a Service

Buy and deploy

We supply the robot, carry out the site safety assessment, integrate it with your equipment and software, commission it on site and train your team. Ownership sits with you, and we offer service agreements for maintenance, software updates and spare parts.

Robots as a Service (RaaS)

Under a RaaS agreement AUTONOMA owns and maintains the robots and you pay a monthly fee per robot. The fee covers the hardware, software, maintenance, updates and remote monitoring. A one-off deployment fee covers the safety assessment, integration and commissioning. Terms are typically 24 to 60 months, which lets you trial humanoid automation without a capital purchase and scale the fleet up or down as your workload changes.

Humanoid robot fleets that work together

A single humanoid robot handles one task. A fleet handles a workflow. AUTONOMA deploys multiple humanoid robots under a shared fleet management layer so they can divide tasks, hand work to each other and avoid collisions in the same workspace. The fleet layer connects to your warehouse management system, laboratory information management system or MES, so robots pick up jobs from the same queue your people use.

What a coordinated fleet looks like in practice:

  • Two robots unloading and sorting incoming sample crates in a mine site laboratory while a third transfers trays to the preparation line

  • A team of robots moving totes between a receiving dock, put-away shelves and packing stations, sharing a single task queue

  • Robots tending several CNC machines or test rigs on a rotation, with one robot covering while another charges

Each robot on the fleet reports its status, battery level and task history to a dashboard, and the fleet can be monitored remotely by AUTONOMA under a RaaS or support agreement.

Industries we deploy humanoid robots in

Mining and resources laboratories

Sample preparation laboratories at mine sites and commercial assay labs run repetitive manual handling around the clock: unpacking sample bags, loading crushers and pulverisers, moving trays between stations, and packing dispatch. AUTONOMA already automates these labs with fixed robotic cells, and humanoid robots extend that to tasks where the layout was built for people. Our existing clients include Tier 1 iron ore miners, BHP, ALS and Intertek.

Warehousing and logistics

Humanoid robots handle tote and carton movement, put-away, replenishment and trailer unloading in facilities that were never designed for fixed automation. Because they use the same doors, aisles and shelving as your staff, there is no need to re-fit the site. A fleet can cover a shift pattern that is hard to staff in regional Australia.

Manufacturing and assembly

Machine tending, kitting, part transfer between cells, inspection and end-of-line packing. Humanoids suit high-mix, low-volume production where a fixed robot cell would need re-tooling every change-over. We integrate the robots with your PLCs, HMIs and MES so they behave as another station on the line.

Other applications

We also assess humanoid robots for facilities work, hazardous area inspection, and remote or fly-in fly-out sites where reducing headcount on site has a safety and cost benefit. If your task is not listed, talk to us; the honest answer is sometimes that a fixed robot or a mobile manipulator is the better fit, and we will say so.

Humanoid robot brands we can supply

AUTONOMA is not tied to one manufacturer. We source from the platforms below and select on payload, reach, battery life, software openness, safety functions and local supportability. Availability changes quickly in this market, so the list reflects the position as at September 2026.  Some manufacturers, including Figure, Tesla and Boston Dynamics, currently supply only their own direct customers. We track those programs and will add them as they open to integrators. Unitree humanoid robots are also listed on our Products page for direct purchase.

How a humanoid robot deployment works

  1. Task assessment. We visit your site, map the tasks, cycle times and handling loads, and confirm whether a humanoid is the right tool.

  1. Platform selection and safety review. We choose the robot and complete a risk assessment against the applicable machinery and robot safety standards.

  1. Pilot. One or two robots run a defined task for four to twelve weeks with AUTONOMA engineers on site, and we measure throughput, uptime and intervention rate.

  1. Integration. We connect the robots to your systems, set up the fleet management layer and finalise safety controls and operating procedures.

  1. Scale. Add robots to the fleet under purchase or RaaS terms, with training for your operators and maintenance staff.

  1. Support. Remote monitoring, preventive maintenance, software updates and spares from Perth.

Safety and compliance

Humanoid robots are mobile machines with actively controlled balance, so they are assessed differently from fixed industrial robots. AUTONOMA’s functional safety engineers assess each deployment against ISO 10218:2025 for industrial robot safety and the emerging ISO 25785-1 standard for mobile robots with actively controlled stability, together with Australian model WHS requirements for plant. Every deployment includes a documented risk assessment, defined operating zones, fall and power-loss behaviour, and emergency stop provisions. We offer safety risk assessments as a standalone service for clients who have sourced robots elsewhere.

Why AUTONOMA for humanoid robots in Australia

  • Engineering firm, not a reseller. Mechanical, electrical, software and functional safety engineers in one Perth team.

  • Five years delivering industrial and laboratory robotics to Australian mining, resources and pathology clients.

  • Brand-agnostic selection, so the robot fits the task rather than the other way round.

  • Fleet deployment with a shared task queue, not just single-robot pilots.

  • Local support from Osborne Park, Western Australia, with site work across Australia.

  • Strategic alliance with HF Innovation GmbH in Germany for laboratory automation platforms.
