MultiEQP-100 Metallic Samples Processing Unit

The MultiEQP-100 is a versatile hydraulic processing unit designed for the treatment and preparation of metallic samples in analytical laboratories and industrial environments. Rather than requiring separate instruments for each preparation task, the MultiEQP-100 consolidates multiple sample processing capabilities into a single integrated platform, covering cutting, crushing, punching, pressing, chopping, and conforming within one system.
Sample preparation is a critical step in metallurgical and analytical workflows, and the quality and consistency of that preparation directly affects the reliability of downstream results. The MultiEQP-100 addresses this by combining up to three independent working stations in a single system, each capable of performing different processing tasks depending on the installed tool. This modular design allows laboratories to perform multiple operations without switching between separate pieces of equipment, significantly improving workflow efficiency and reducing the footprint required for sample preparation in the laboratory.
The system supports a range of specialised tools developed for different preparation methods. The pressing tool produces pellets of various diameters for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. The punching tool allows operators to produce up to three pins simultaneously for use in elemental analysers. The crushing and conforming tools prepare flat, uniform sample surfaces for spark spectrophotometry, ensuring accurate and consistent analytical results. A chopping tool is also available, designed specifically for cutting metallic lollipop samples by removing the sample stick so that the remaining test piece can be efficiently processed in automated or robotic laboratory systems. This capability makes the MultiEQP-100 particularly well suited to laboratories that integrate automated sample preparation or robotic analysis into their workflows.
Tool changes are managed through a quick and secure exchange system developed specifically for EQUILAB presses. Operators can switch between processing tools rapidly while maintaining safe operation, minimising downtime and allowing the system to adapt quickly to changing preparation requirements throughout the working day.
The hydraulic system generates up to 50 tons of pressure, providing the force required to process a wide range of metallic materials reliably and consistently, including during demanding operations such as metal pressing, crushing, and forming. Operator safety is addressed through a cabinet constructed from aluminium and polycarbonate that protects the operator while maintaining clear visibility of the processing area. An encoded open-door detection system prevents the equipment from operating while the safety cabinet is open, providing an additional layer of protection during routine use.
The entire system is controlled through a central unit equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display. The software interface allows operators to configure and monitor all processing operations, manage individual working stations, and store up to five programmable working programs. Each working station can be operated either through the central control unit or directly from the station itself, providing flexibility to suit different laboratory workflows and operator preferences.
The MultiEQP-100 is a practical and reliable solution for metallurgical laboratories, industrial testing facilities, and research environments where multiple sample preparation processes need to be performed efficiently, safely, and consistently as part of a high-volume analytical workflow.

The MultiEQP-100 is operated through a central control unit equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display that gives operators full visibility and control over the entire system from a single interface. Up to three working units can be managed simultaneously from the central control, with operators able to configure and store up to five programmable processing programs for different sample types and preparation methods. Processing cycles and operation time are fully adjustable, and a digital manometer provides continuous pressure monitoring throughout each cycle, supporting consistent and repeatable results across every batch.
Magnetic end-of-cycle sensors automate the working cycle by detecting the completion of each processing stage and triggering the next step automatically, reducing the need for manual intervention and improving throughput in high-volume laboratory environments. Each working station can also be operated independently from the central control unit, providing flexibility for laboratories where different operators may be working on different preparation tasks at the same time. Together, these control features ensure that the MultiEQP-100 operates efficiently, safely, and consistently as part of a demanding analytical sample preparation workflow.
